Day 92 – 26th October 2007

Weight – 104.4 Kg (229.68 lb)

Fat Mass – 32.7 Kg (71.94 lb)

Weight Loss To Date: 10.1 Kg (22.229 lb)

Blood Pressure – 116/77

Resting Heart Rate – 71

Well, I have finally broken the 10Kg weight loss. Its a bit of a psychological breakthrough, as I had been on a plateau for some time. With my immediate goal to get below 100Kg before Christmas, I am happy where I currently am.

Some of you reading this may be thinking that my weight loss is too slow, but I should warn you that unless you are extremely over-weight, you shouldn't be trying to lose more than 2lb a week. Doing so would almost certainly mean you are also losing muscle tissue. Losing muscle tissue is disastrous, as it is the muscle that keeps you metabolism high, and burns the calories. My goal with respect to muscle is to try to maintain my muscle mass while losing fat. If I can add a little muscle mass, that would be even better, but again, it is very very difficult to gain muscle while losing fat. The reason for that is simply that to gain muscle, you need to consume more calories than you burn, and to lose fat you need to consume less calories than you burn.

About Andy

Andy writes for a number of health related sites but has always been fascinated by alternative medicine and home remedies. His deep interests in nature and the body's innate ability to heal itself (given the right condition) have lead him to a pivotal time in his life - and so, Holistic Home Fitness was born. While it's relatively new at the moment, Andy wants to build this site into a huge reference site for a more holistic approach to health and fitness.
